Thrilling Endings at Showcase - Again

The Best of the Midwest Showcase started with a bang, as the first three games were tight ones into the fourth quarter.

Free State took the opener, 68-57. The Firebirds held a double-digit lead into the third quarter, but Raytown closed to within one as the third period sounded. However, Free State pulled away for the win.

Liberty was able to cap its comeback with a win. Down eight in the fourth quarter, Liberty forced overtime, then tied at 66-66, Lawrence missed two shots, Liberty's Clayton Adams grabbed the rebound and was fouled by the Lions with :00.7 left. Adams hit both charity tosses for the win.

Liberty junior Jalen Adams was the high scorer of the showcase with 36 points, two off Michael Porter's event record of 38. Adams is the career leader with 95 points scored in the three-year history.

Ottawa got out to a 25-21 lead in the second quarter, then pulled away behind Isaac McCullough's 23 points.
