Four Thunder in Double Figures

Hayden’s boys basketball team rallied from 10 points behind in the first quarter and from an 11-point halftime deficit to take a one-point lead into the fourth quarter, but the Wildcats couldn’t answer St. James Academy’s final run.

Down 39-28 at the half, Wildcat sophomore standout Zach Harvey scored 14 of his game-high 24 points in the third quarter as Hayden outscored St. James 20-8 to take a 48-47 advantage.

The fourth quarter was all St. James, however, as the Thunder outscored the Wildcats 27-13 to take a 74-61 win in the Best of the Midwest Showcase at Blue Valley Northwest. Both Hayden and St. James are now 11-5 on the season.

St. James hit seven 3-pointers in the first half and 10 in the game, including three apiece from senior Spencer Kaifes and 6-foot-11 junior Keenan Fitzmorris.
