Patterson Division

>> Brackets, Times

The top four seeds are ranked in the top 15 of the latest 810 Varsity Top 25 - No. 5 Oak Park, No. 6 Grandview, No. 11 Park Hill South and No. 15 Liberty North. Kick in Lee's Summit and Ray-Pec in the top 35 for good measure and its a loaded division.

The division features some rematches, namely with Liberty North. The Eagles laid out its first-round opponent, Raymore-Peculiar, 58-41, in the Liberty North Invitational. Should LN win, they face Grandview, which nipped the Eagles, 53-49, in each team's prior game before the Jewell Classic.

Two of the city's top teams, and especially in the Northland, look to match up in the second round with Park Hill South and undefeated Oak Park.

Best first-round game
Park Hill South vs Lee's Summit
The Panthers nearly won the CNB Invitational in Leavenworth, losing in OT to Liberty. Lee's Summit has enjoyed two consecutive victories and is playing much better. With neither team featuring much size, it has the makings of a possible first-round stunner.

Best second-round game
While the possible Liberty North vs Grandview game was a four-point contest in the first meeting, Park Hill South and Oak Park is definitely an awaited clash of Northland powers.

Players to Watch
Ochai Agbaji, Oak Park -
The 6-foot-5 senior is averaging a ridiculous 28.2 ppg and 7.8 rebounds, leading the 810 Varsity Player of the Year watch.

Lamel Robinson, Park Hill South - One of the fastest and highest-scoring point guards in the Metro, averaging 23.8 ppg.

Predicted winner:
Going to go out on a limb with Jordan Lathon still out for Grandview, and the strength of schedule which Park Hill South has played...
Park Hill South over Grandview

Amended: Oak Park over Grandview...

Nelson Division

>> Brackets, Times

Lots of potential in this division, as Rockhurst has a talented lineup, Center is the No. 17 team in the 810 Varsity Top 25 and seeded as No. 5. And then there's Park Hill, which has been besieged with injuries but returning its troops. Oh yeah, the No. 1 seed, North Kansas City.

Best first-round game
Center vs Blue Springs
RJ Lawrence leads the Wildcats against an experienced Yellowjackets team.

Best second-round game
Rockhurst vs Park Hill
Potential galore if both lineups are at full strength. This will be  a good showing what each can do ahead, or if ready for the next step forward.

Players to Watch
Deng Bol, North Kansas City -
One of many reasons why North Kansas City is undefeated and up to No. 7 in the 810 Varsity Top 25

Ronnie Bell, Park Hill - Though recently committed to Michigan to play football, Bell still is one of the area's top hoopsters, scoring 23 in his return two Saturday's ago at the Cable Dahmer Shootout.

Predicted Winner
North Kansas City faces off vs Rockhurst, and builds off last year's Jewell Classic run to nudge the Hawklets .

Cardinal Division

>> Brackets, Times

Another strong round of teams with four of the Top 21 in the 810 Varsity Top 25, including the Metro's top team, Lee's Summit West, and then the next highest ranked Misssouri team, Liberty at No. 4.

Best first-round game
Raytown vs Staley - The Falcons played pretty respectably at the Webster Groves Classic, while Raytown won the Parkview Tourney early in the year. However, both enter with two straight losses (3 in Staley's case)

Best second-round game
Liberty vs Blue Springs South - Liberty has vaulted to No. 4 in the 810 Varsity Top 25, while Blue Springs South is making solid progress with its young lineup.

Players to Watch
Jalen Lewis, Liberty -
Lewis hit 10 three-pointers in a win at Grandview, and also is pushing for the Metro's Player of the Year, averaging a robust 21.3 ppg.

Jack Gillig / Jaylon McDaniel, Blue Springs South - Gillig has been leading the Jags from the outside, while McDaniel, a 6-foot-7 freshman, is one of the area's next stars.

Christian Bishop, Lee's Summit West - The 6-foot-7 commit to Creighton is a first-team all-810 Varsity selection, but shares the scoring among a loaded lineup.

Predicted Winner
Going with as its laid out here, the Titans over Liberty for the championship.
