A three-peat ahead for Bulldogs?

After two straight state titles, what can Grandview do for an encore?

How about a three-peat? The Bulldogs certainly are loaded up for another run at the state crown in 2020.

Grandview, 29-2 last year and 57-5 over the last two seasons, bring back instrumental pieces from last year's title team. Reggie Morris Jr - son of head coach Reggie Morris - returns for his senior campaign after averaging 13.2 ppg, 2.2 steals and over 38% from behind the three-point line. Morris Jr is a commit to Air Force.

"Reggie will have to take on a stronger overall role than he has the last two years than just an elite shooter," said Morris of the senior guard. "He must score and facilitate and makes his teammates better while demonstrating strong leadership."

Up front, Taj Manning continues to improve, as the 6-foot-7 sophomore netted 10.1 ppg and six rebounds as a frosh.

"Taj must expand his overall game on both ends of the floor," Morris commented. "He must be efficient in the paint and the perimeter, plus be rim protector and glass eater on the boards."

Along with the inside-outside duo will be junior Reggie King, 6-foot-3 small forward.

"Reggie will be asked to be an enforcer on defense and the glass," Morris said.

Junior Jordan McGee (5-foot-10) and senior Camden Smith (5-foot-9) also will round out the backcourt.

"Jordan will need to be our third consistent scorer. Camden must be the floor general and defensive stopper for us," Morris said.

While Morris and Manning return, the rest of the lineup will be young on varsity experience.

"Because of the lack of experience, we are treating each day and game as opportunity to get better as a team with culture, and defensively and offensively so that we are a very solid team when playoffs comes," Morris said. "We will work to utilize the formula that has been great for us the last three years - tough defense that will lead to great transition offense mixed with efficient have court offense that values great shots."
