If there was anyone who figured to end Raytown South's undefeated start to the season, it would be Grandview.
Both league and Class 4 rivals, the two faced off with Raytown South at Grandview on Tuesday night. The Cardinals (8-1) entered with an unblemished 8-0 record, and No. 1 in the 810 Varsity Top 25, while No. 15 Grandview has started at 7-3.
The G-Dogs built a 43-35 lead entering the final quarter, but Ray South surged to draw within two, but fell shy.
Taj Manning paced Grandview with 20 points, while Reggie Morris Jr added 11.
Dezmond McKinney led a balanced Ray South attack with 14 points, with Keitez Simmons (12), Raevon Carter (11) and Mark Cann (11) also in double digits.
