You can't hold a good man down for long, or in this case, Raytown South.
Raytown South, in quest of a trip to the state tourney in Springfield with its senior-laden team, found itself down, 17-15, at halftime to St. Joe Lafayette in the Class 4 quarterfinals on Saturday.
But the Cardinals, surged after intermission and took a 36-31 edge after the third quarter, then blew the roof off of Blue Springs South's gym, rolling to a 20-point win.
Kobe Campbell led just four scorers for Ray South with 22 points, while Mark Cann (19), Dezmond McKinney (16), and Simmons (3) rounded out the scoring.
Raytown South (25-3) will face Notre Dame (Cape Girardeau) in the semifinals, who hold a 26-4 mark.
St. Joe Lafayette concludes the year with a 19-10 mark.
