Below are the third-team all-Metro 810 Varsity selections for the 2019-20 season.

Byron Alexander, Staley
Senior, 6-foot-5
Alexander helped the Falcons to the Class 5 Final Four with over 15 ppg, nearly 3 steals and 7.5 rebounds a contest along with over 2.5 assists and hitting 58% from the floor.

Tamar Bates, Piper
Junior, 6-foot-4
Bates did it all, with 21.3 ppg, 5.1 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 2.1 steals, 1 block per game, while connecting at clips of 58% FG, 46% 3PT and 88% FT.

Mark Cann, Raytown South
Senior, 6-foot-5
Cann helped lead the Cardinals to the Class 4 semis, posting 16 ppg and 5 rebounds

Jack Chapman, BV Northwest
Junior, 6-foot-7
Chapman stepped up in his junior year, scoring 21 ppg while grabbing 6 rebounds a contest. Chapman hit 52% from the floor, 42% from behind the arc.

Mark Mitchell, Bishop Miege
Sophomore, 6-foot-7
Mitchell posted 22 ppg, 9 rebounds along with 1.8 blocks and 2.7 assists for the Stags.

D’Anthony Pennington, North Kansas City
Senior, 6-foot-2
The Kansas City commit averaged over 22 ppg and nearly 5 assists for the Hornets.

Kian Scroggins, Ray-Pec
Senior, 6-foot-7
The co-Suburban Gold Player of the Year posted 18.6 ppg and over 11 rebounds per game

Steve Strong, University Academy
Junior, 5-foot-11
The junior guard led the Metro with 30.8 ppg, 5.6 assists, 3.1 steals, 3.5 rebounds while hitting on 54% from the floor, 41 from 3-point land with 94 three’s made, and the shot of the year to win districts.

Grant Stubbs, Liberty
Senior, 6-foot-6
A double-double machine with over 17.5 ppg and 9.5 rebounds per game. Stubbs connected on 54% from the floor.

Brennan Watkins, Kearney
Junior, 5-foot-11
First-team Suburban Blue, 24 ppg, 90 three’s made, 89% FT
