Blue Valley – 2010

Eric Driskell squelched any concerns of replacing Steve Rampy as head coach, simply winning the state title in his first year. It wasn’t until Week 6 before an opponent scored double digits. Meanwhile, QB Kyle Zimmerman and RB Justin Fulks helped lead the offense. BV avenged its lone loss during the season to Gardner-Edgerton, by beating Bubba Starling and the Blazers in a 45-42 semifinal classic before BV’s 35-14 win over Bishop Carroll in the championship game.
Rockhurst – 2010

Missouri Class 6 State Champions
The Hawklets opened with three nailbiters over Blue Springs (7-6), Hutchinson (29-28, OT) and Blue Springs South (24-17, OT). Rockhurst finished with one score playoff wins over BSS, BS and Hazelwood Central in the title game, 10-7. The D held 9 foes to 10 points or under, and just 13 total points in the final 3 playoff games. TE Dan Tapko and DE Michael Rose-Ivey anchored the lines for Rock.
