Lincoln Prep's Payton, Lawrence's Neal Earn Honors

810 Varsity and Children's Mercy Sports Medicine Center have partnered for a weekly Children’s Mercy Sports Medicine Center Metro Area High School Male and Female Student-Athlete Performance of the Week award! 

Nominations are due each week, by Monday at noon, and can be submitted online at https://www.childrensmercy.org/performanceoftheweek 

810 Varsity also will post weekly reminders on Twitter and at 810Varsity.com as well. 

On Monday afternoon, the selection committee will review the nominations and choose a weekly Male and Female winner. Then Tuesday, the winners will be announced on both the 810 Varsity and the Children’s Mercy Sports Medicine Center social media channels, as well as 810Varsity.com .

At the end of the year, a Male and Female Student-Athlete of the Year will be selected, and each winner will be invited to be recognized on the field prior to a Sporting KC match at Children’s Mercy Park.

We are looking forward to a great year of high school sports in the KC Metro and wish everyone nothing but the best of luck!

FEMALE PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK - 10/14/2020

Leiloni Payton, Lincoln Prep

Payton has starred as a freshman at Lincoln Prep, winning the Class 1 District 14 singles title with a 6-0, 6-1, 6-2 victory in the final to improve to 8-0 for the season. Payton also helped the LCPA tennis team to the district team title as well.

Payon competes Oct 16-17 in Springfield, MO at the Missouri state tennis championships.

MALE PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK - 10/14/2020

Devin Neal, Lawrence

Neal roared for 150 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns in a showdown vs Tank Young on Friday, helping Lawrence to a 37-29 win in a matchup of the Class 6A No. 1 team vs the Class 5A No. 1 team.

For the season, Neal has 679 rushing yards and 9 scores. As a junior, Neal rushed for 1,700 yards along with 516 receiving yards for 32 combined TDs.

Neal verbally committed last spring to play football and baseball at the University of Kansas.
