Perhaps the marquee matchup of the 810 Varsity Showcase came in the afternoon, with two Top 10 teams in the 810 Varsity Top 25 facing off with St. Thomas Aquinas and Blue Springs. After a to-and-fro first half which the Saints led, 23-22, Aquinas pulled away in the second half.

The size of the Saints inside duo of juniors Charlotte O'Keefe (6-foot-3) and Beatrice Culliton (6-foot-3) was too much for the Wildcats on the glass and on the drives. Culliton dominated with 28 points and 17 rebounds,  in leading the Saints to a 48-35 win.

Jada Williams led Blue Springs with 22 points, and didn't disappoint the national and local media with some highlight drives and three three-pointers. But the super soph was thwarted a few times going inside against the Saints.
