Olathe North's Hocker Singh, LS West's Ellis earn honors

810 Varsity and Children's Mercy Sports Medicine Center have partnered for a weekly Children’s Mercy Sports Medicine Center Metro Area High School Male and Female Student-Athlete Performance of the Week award! 

Nominations are due each week, by Monday at noon, and can be submitted online at https://www.childrensmercy.org/performanceoftheweek 

810 Varsity also will post weekly reminders on Twitter and at 810Varsity.com as well. 

On Monday afternoon, the selection committee will review the nominations and choose a weekly Male and Female winner. Then Tuesday, the winners will be announced on both the 810 Varsity and the Children’s Mercy Sports Medicine Center social media channels, as well as 810Varsity.com .

At the end of the year, a Male and Female Student-Athlete of the Year will be selected, and each winner will be invited to be recognized on the field prior to a Sporting KC match at Children’s Mercy Park.

We are looking forward to a great year of high school sports in the KC Metro and wish everyone nothing but the best of luck!

MALE PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK - 11/18/2021

Caleb Ellis, Lee's Summit West

Ellis needed a U-Haul for the medals he brought home from the Missouri Class 2 state swimming championships. The senior Titan swimmer was on the title 200-yard Medley Relay team (1:33.52) and 200-yard freestyle relay team (1:24.20), which set a state record. Ellis individuall won the 200-yard IM (1:49.91), and got second in the 100-yard butterfly (48.38).
Ellis will be swimming for Ohio State next fall.

FEMALE PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK - 11/18/2021

Anjali Hocker Singh, Olathe North

Anjali won the Kansas Class 6A cross country title with a time of 17:45.6.  In a recent seven-state regional, the sophomore ran a 17:11 to finish fourth, and the best time for Kansas and Missouri.  The time was the fastest in Kansas in the last 10 years, and 34th fastest nationally this year.  Anajli also won the title as a freshman in 2020.
