810 Varsity and Children's Mercy Sports Medicine Center have partnered for a weekly Children’s Mercy Sports Medicine Center Metro Area High School Male and Female Student-Athlete Performance of the Week award! 

Nominations are due each week, by Monday at noon, and can be submitted online at https://www.childrensmercy.org/performanceoftheweek 

810 Varsity also will post weekly reminders on Twitter and at 810Varsity.com as well. 

On Monday afternoon, the selection committee will review the nominations and choose a weekly Male and Female winner. Then Tuesday, the winners will be announced on both the 810 Varsity and the Children’s Mercy Sports Medicine Center social media channels, as well as 810Varsity.com .

At the end of the year, a Male and Female Student-Athlete of the Year will be selected, and each winner will be invited to be recognized on the field prior to a Sporting KC match at Children’s Mercy Park.

MALE PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK - 12/2/2021

Sam Van Dyne, Liberty North

Sam helped lead Liberty North to an 11-2 record and the No. 1 ranking in Missouri Class 6 and 810 Varsity Top 25 most of the season. The Eagles eventually lost in the Class 6 title game, the first-ever appearance in the football championship game by a Liberty school.
The junior quarterback finished with 2,141 passing yards and 21 touchdowns for the year, and a finalist for the Simone Award for top player in Kansas City.

FEMALE PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK - 12/2/2021

Kiki Moon, Truman

Kiki helped the Truman cheer team to a first-place finish at the UCA Regionals and secure a bid to nationals in Florida.
Kiki was diagnoased with scoliosis at 12, wearing a fiberglass brace for 20 hours per day. Kiki eventually underwent spinal fusion surgery in May of 2020, gained 2.5 inches in height and after a long recovery process, has been able to do some of the activities as before. In addition, Kik coaches younger athletes and plans to cheer in college, as well as coach cheer later in life.
