Options have made game day experience more convenient

As teams improve on the court this winter season, so has the fan experience off the court for high schools in Missouri and across the country.

The admission experience continues to become more convenient for both students and fans, and schools as well.  Area schools have used digital options like HomeTown Ticketing to improve the process of buying and managing tickets for students and fans and lessen logistics burdens of event management for administrators and staff.

"Students can purchase an activity pass and put it on their smart device. It's really user friendly," said Liberty athletic director Jason Cahill of HomeTown Ticketing's platform.

While HomeTown Ticketing is the official provider of MSHSAA postseason events, both Liberty district schools and other Kansas City metro area athletic departments use the digital ticketing during the regular season too.

"We can have all the information on the digital ticket with the game, details and a logo on the ticket," Cahill said. "For us, we can get data of how many are purchased, how many adult and students were purchased and get additional analytics after each game. We can even make a QR code for rosters, to save paper rosters and the fan can always have the roster."

Schools also report digital ticketing helps reduce wait times to get into the stands, especially for rivalry games and other well attended contests.

"Whether its football or soccer outside, or basketball or volleyball indoors, we have one destination for passes. We can have iPads and fans don't have to wait in line. They go to the pass line, scan their QR code and they are off and running. We can see if the ticket has been used or is a bad ticket, or a good ticket and green."

Also for big games, Cahill and other schools can monitor capacity ahead of time to avoid any headaches on game day.

"We can set game limitation if needed, so say if it’s the Liberty vs Liberty North basketball game, we can cap it," Cahill said.

HomeTown now provides paperless ticketing platforms to more than 11,000 schools nationwide including 50 schools in Missouri – including the Liberty schools, Smithville and many other Metro area schools. HomeTown Ticketing enters its second year as the official ticketing partner of the MSHSAA, providing digital/online tickets for football, volleyball, boys soccer, fall softball, cross country, girls golf, boys swimming and diving and girls tennis.
