When looking at talent on rosters in Missouri, Lee’s Summit North ranks right at the top.

The Broncos, coming off an 11-2 season and a trip to the Missouri Class 6 semifinals, bring back a good number of highly recruited starters as well as new faces as well.

“We should be pretty good, but are young and have a lot of guys who haven’t played on Friday nights,” said head coach Jamar Mozee. “We think by season’s end, we should be able to compete with anyone in the state.”

Lee’s Summit North did last year, as the only two losses were to the state finalists, and by narrow margins. A regular season loss to Liberty North (38-35) and eventual champion CBC in the semis (28-21) were the only times the Broncos walked away on the short end.

Nothing close on the short end is senior offensive tackle Cayden Green, who entered the summer as one of the most sought tackles in the nation and an Under Armour All-American. After holding 30+ Power 5 offers, the 6-foot-5, 310-pound Green committed to Oklahoma earlier in July.

“Cayden is a leader on our football team, and a dominant presence in the run and pass game,” Mozee touted. “He's an outstanding young man, and he's wonderful to coach.”

Also up front will be junior Ashton Baker (6-0, 280), who has started since his freshman season.

“Ashton’s a physical player, he's very athletic and moves really well for his size,” Mozee stated. “Ashton should be really good for us in the pass game and the run game.”

Calling plays at quarterback will be either of a pair of transfers in senior Maxwell Ford (6-foot-3, 215), who formerly played at St. Thomas Aquinas, or junior Elijah Leonard (6-foot-3, 215), who saw action at Liberty North.

“Maxwell ran mostly the option, but has had a great offseason for us. He’s big and strong, can run and can really throw the ball,” Mozee analyzed. “Elijah is a big young man, he has massive hands, and he can throw the ball with anybody.  He's also a great athlete, and he can be a nightmare in the run game.  He will be dynamic for us on offense.”

Either way, their main target will be sophomore Isaiah Mozee (6-foot-1, 180). As a freshman, Mozee registered over 500 total yards and just under 10 touchdowns, picking up 20 offers already.

“Isaiah will be dynamic for us in the pass game,” said the elder Mozee. “He has great size, and he has amazing short area quickness, and should be a big-time player for us.”

Picking up yards in the ground game will be senior Quincey Baker (5-foot-9, 180), who rushed for over 1,000 years and is threatening the school’s all-time leading rushing mark. Joining Baker will be junior Tanner Howes (5-foot-1, 170), who rushed for just under 1,000 yards as a sophomore.

“Quincey is a physical runner with good speed.  He should have a great season,” Mozee said. “Tanner is a dynamic player who I believe is under recruited.  Tanner is very explosive, and he can get away anywhere on the field.  Tanner has elite hands, and he can also return punts and kicks at a high level. He should also have a big season.”

Stepping across the line, junior defensive Williams Nwaneri (6-foot-5, 255) also is a national target, with offers from Alabama, Georgia and many other top programs.

“Will has every tool to be an All-American.  He's long, fast, strong, explosive,” Mozee stated. “Will is very blessed with amazing physical tools. His potential is off the charts.”

Sophomore defensive tackle Ka’Mori Moore (6-0, 310) also is gaining Division I offers from Iowa State and Nebraska, among others.

“Ka'Mori is a dominant football player.  He is very quick off the ball, and he's very strong.  Ka'Mori has the potential to be the best defensive tackle Lee's Summit North has ever had,” Mozee hyped.

Joining Moore up front at times at defensive end will be senior Randall Ward (6-foot-2, 225), who also will line up at outside linebacker.

“Randall is the real deal.  He has a high motor, he's physical, and he's strong.  Most of all he's just a football player,” Mozee added.

Other outside linebackers will be Sa’o Siavii (6-foot-1, 240), who joined Ford in transferring from St. Thomas Aquinas. Sophomore Chase Pearsall (6-0, 210) is another Division I level rising prospect, with offers already from Iowa State and Nebraska.

“Sa’o is big, strong and fast,” Mozee reviewed. “Chase is a big physical football player.  He can run, and he can move really well. Chase has a chance to be a special player.”

At inside linebacker, senior Kade Williams (6-0, 205) “is a tackling machine.” Fellow senior Jamir Conn (6-0, 170) will lead the secondary, holding offers from Arkansas State, North Iowa, Army and others.

“Jamir is an outstanding football player who can cover, run, and he's physical in the run game.  Jamir loves to play football, and he works tirelessly to get better.”
