Yellowjackets will be strong again with seniors Armand Russell (12 ppg), Keyon Spiller (10 ppg) and Joseph Vick returning from injury from a 20-win team.
Head coach: David Birch
Last year's record: 18-5; Kansas Class 6A quarterfinals
David Birch has turned around the Cougars, including a berth in the Class 6A state tourney a year ago. Malik O’Atis, Keaton Wagler and talented 2026 Ethan Taylor (6-foot-9) will have SM Northwest in the mix again.

Last year's record: 10-11
Jaguars have good mix of seniors with junior Mason Kemp (6-foot-7) and soph Carter Kaifes (6-foot-5), younger brother of star Cooper.
Head coach: Stan Dohm
Last year's record: 17-8; Kansas Class 5A 3rd place
Thunder still have good firepower from last year’s Class 5A third-place team, namely senior point guard Brian Hawthorne (14 ppg, 5.3 reb, 4.5 ast, 27. Stl). A senior-laden lineup includes Finn Burritt, John Niesen and 6-foot-7 Gabe Sydzyik.

Last year's record: 20-5; Kansas Class 5A Runner-Up
Last year’s Class 5A runner-up still be stout with junior all-state guard David Cobin (17.4 ppg, 5 reb) and Trent Johnson (10 ppg, 4 reb) returning as starters for a guard-heavy lineup.
Head coach: Sherron Collins
Last year's record: 23-2; Kansas Class 6A 3rd place
Firebirds finished third in Class 6A last year, but departed three high-scoring seniors as well as head coach Sam Stroh. Kansas legend Sherron Collins steps in on the sideline with talent still for FSHS.
Head coach: Billy Thomas
Last year's record: 15-11
Hawklets improved six wins in first year under Billy Thomas. Young but talented cast will try to take next step, though injury to 6-foot-8 Andrew Sprague could limit Rock’s upside.
Head coach: Dillon Tenholder
Last year's record: 13-14
Senior three-year starters in guards Gio Mack (17 ppg, 8 reb, 4.2 ast) and Greg Lyles (13.3 ppg, 3.8 reb) will help lead the Pirates under Dillon Tenholder. A drop from Class 6 to Class 5 will help come postseason too.
Head coach: Eric Bennaka
Last year's record: 20-7
Warriors jumped to a 20-win season under Eric Bannaka, as Ryker Edwards returns to lead SHS with three-point shooter Toby Ford and improving senior Spencer Engle (6-foot-10) balancing out the lineup.
Head coach: Scott Jermain
Last year's record: 10-16
Ashton Jermain joins other possible breakout candidates such as Bryce Mitchell for the Panthers.
