Blue Valley North appears on a mission on the volleyball court so far in 2023. 

The Mustangs, third-place finishers in Kansas Class 6A a year ago and state champions in 2021, have jumped out to a 13-0 start so far this season.  

BV North has been led by senior setter Janelle Green (151 assists) – a Cincinnati commit - and junior Logan Parks (99 kills, 25.6 ace %). Parks played for Team USA during the 2023 U19 Pan Am Cup this past summer. 

“Our goals is to be state champs,” Green stated. “I know all the girls have the same goal in mind, and we’re all driven the same way.” 

North has only lost two sets all year, and are ranked No. 3 in the latest 810 Varsity volleyball Top 25. With wins over Blue Valley Southwest and BV West on Wednesday night, the Mustangs notched career win No. 700 for head coach Matt Allin on senior night for the Mustangs. 

“We’ve had very dedicated kids and parents in the program over the years,” Allin reflected. “It was a nice acknowledgement, but it’s not about me on senior night.” 

The Mustangs have big matches ahead with fellow top 3 opponents in No. 1 St. Thomas Aquinas and No. 2 St. James Academy next Tuesday.
