Long-time head football coach Steve Rampy will be stepping away from the sideline at Staley.

Rampy concluded a three-year stint at Staley, as the school announced his departure on social media on Thursday.

Rampy took over the Falcons program in 2021, finishing with a 15-16 record, highlighted by a 7-3 mark in 2022.

Prior to Staley, Rampy most notably spent 25 years as the head coach of Blue Valley, leading the Tigers to four Kansas Class 5A state titles (1991, 1998, 2003, 2006) and four state runners-up (1992, 1995, 1997, 2005).

After BVHS, Rampy served as the offensive coordinator at Pitt State, helping the Gorillas to the 2011 NCAA Division II national title.

Rampy returned to the high school sidelines at Lawrence, spending three years as the head coach of the Chesty Lions, including a 17-3 record in the final two seasons before departing for Staley in 2021.
