Lee's Summit West tabs Kyle Lower as new head boys basketball coach

One of the top boys basketball programs in the city will see just its second head coach in 20 years take the sideline next year.

Kyle Lower has reportedly been offered and accepted the head coaching position, pending board approval later in the month. Lower has served as a long-time boys basketball varsity assistant at Blue Springs.

Prior to coaching at Blue Springs, played basketball and graduated from William Jewell, then spent four years as an Assistant/Interim Head Coach for William Jewell College.

Lower takes the helm after Michael Schieber stepped down during the season due to health reasons. Lee’s Summit West won 380 games with Schieber on the sideline, advancing to the state semifinals four times, including finishes as state-runner up (2017) and third place in 2014 and 2012.
