For the first time in over a decade, Park Hill South will welcome a new boys head basketball coach to the sidelines.
Max Sollars has been named the Panthers head coach, after serving seven seasons as the head coach at Van Horn – highlighted with a third-place finish in Class 5 in 2021.
“It's an honor to have the opportunity to lead the next generation of student athletes at Park Hill South,” stated Sollars, a Northwest Missouri State alum. “The basketball program here has always been one I've admired from afar. I'm excited to give everything I have to this school, community, and team.”
Sollars takes over the helm after long-time head coach Dan Parra announced his retirement on May 16. Parra finished with 168 wins at South, and took the Panthers to the Class 5 state final in 2015, including a notable upset of Chaminade and Jayson Tatum in the semifinals.
