No. 11 Blue Springs South 55, No. 9 Raytown 50
Blue Springs South fought off Larry Porter IV and Raytown, and won its first Jewell Classic title since 2018.
The Jaguars, ranked No. 11 in the 810 Varsity Top 25, trailed throughout the second and third quarters as Porter IV racked up a game-high 28 points in the contest for No. 9 Raytown.
But Blue Springs South (7-2) overcame the Jays as junior AC Rollins scored eight of his 14 points, and Blayne Marshall canned five of his team-high 15 in the final period.
“This will be big going forward. We can look that we can win, and hopefully get to state,” stated Marshall, the Patterson Division tourney MVP. “This will give us more confidence going into the tough upcoming stretch of the season.”
Blue Springs South has won five Jewell titles since 2011.

HOLLEY DIVISION
Battle 70, Raytown South 48
Battle still has yet to know what a bus ride back to Columbia from the Jewell Classic with a loss feels like.
The Spartans wrapped its second straight tournament crown in two years with a 70-48 romp of Raytown South on Monday night. Brandon Rooks II led Battle with 14, while Vernell Holt Jr was tabbed the Holley Division MVP.
“The past two games, we weren’t using each other as we should’ve, but tonight was more teamwork and being aggressive,” Holt Jr stated. “We have the ability to play together and our bench plays just as well as our starters.”
Battle rolled from the outset, leading 37-22 at halftime.
Donovan Fletcher-Pruitt paced Raytown South with 16 points.

NELSON DIVISION
No. 14 Park Hill 50, KIPP Legacy 46
For the second straight night, Park Hill found itself in a hole and climbed its way out – this time for the Jewell Classic title.
The Trojans, ranked No. 14 in the 810 Varsity Top 25, trailed entering the fourth quarter, but surged for a 50-46 win to take the Nelson Division championship on Monday night.
Senior Cam Jones led the way for Park Hill with 22 points, and was named the tourney MVP.
“We worked hard for this all year and a great thing to happen to us halfway through the season,” Jones said. “They came out and pushed us, and we overcame adversity tonight.
Park Hill (8-2) also trailed 43-33 in the semifinal game entering the final period, but rallied to beat Summit Christian.
The Trojans have won two Jewell titles in the last three seasons, and four since 2014.
King Smith led the Gators with 18 points, while LJ Torrence added 14.
