Liberty notched its first win in style...

Something had to give as two 0-6 teams met at Preston Field in the Northland.

Park Hill South is winless under the direction of first year head coach Mike Sharp as are the Liberty Blue Jays who lost a heartbreaker last week against St. Joe Central who scored a 2 point conversion to win by one in the final seconds of the game during Liberty's Homecoming game.

Liberty would try to spoil the Panthers' Homecoming game and notch their first victory of the season.

Both teams had a wild second quarter - both scoring two touchdowns a piece. The highlight was a 64 yard reverse for touchdown by junior wide receiver Dillon Thomas for Park Hill South.  Liberty was able to answer with two 60+ yard drives in the final few minutes of the half.

The first a 38 yard pass from #7 Ryan Potts to #41 Matthew Gastner to the far post and the second a four yard run by sophomore running back Robert Rawrie. Rawrie eclipsed 1,000 yards on the season during the drive making the halftime score 24-14.

Liberty took command late led by sophomore QB Ryan Potts who finished 14/23 passing for 247 yards and three touchdowns. Sophomore QB Robert Rawrie crossed the 1000 yards mark on the season with a 40 carry 145 yard effort. He had a TD on the ground and also a reception TD.

Xavier Hinkle, who left the same field against Park Hill three weeks earlier in an ambulance with a head injury finished with five catches and 100 yards receiving. Hinkle said that "It feels good. All this hard work at practice just for this moment."

Liberty notches their first win of the season at 1-6 while Park Hill South dropped to 0-7 on the year.
