The fact Park Hill won by two touchdowns over St. Joe Central may not be a surprise.

The fact the Trojans had to surge madly after half certainly was though, as Park Hill scored 21 straight en route to a 38-24 win Friday night at Preston Field.

Three special teams turnovers directly led to 17 points for St. Joe Central as they opened up a 14-point lead in the first quarter at No. 6 Park Hill.

A four-yard touchdown pass from Jacob Hess to Gabe Stagner preceded a 49-yard bomb to Israel Smith, for a 14-0 Indians lead.

Park Hill (7-1) pulled back into it with a 40-yard field goal from Parker Sampson and a 15-yard touchdown pass from Billy Maples to Dorian Clayton for a 14-10 deficit. A field goal by Central's Austin Jackson put the halftime margin at 24-17.
If turnovers helped St. Joe Central in the first half, they returned the favor in the second half however with three turnovers in the final minutes of the third quarter.

Those turnovers led to three TD scores in two minutes by Park Hill, including a 9-yard run by QB Billy Maples to make it 38-24.

Park Hill will face off at  Truman in a battle of undefeateds in the Suburban Middle 6 next week as both teams are 4-0 in conference play.

St. Joe Central falls to 3-5 on the season and will finish back at Preston Field next week against Park Hill South.
