Talk about new faces for Park Hill this season. Long-time star Landry Shamet departed for Wichita State. David Garrison left the sidelines as head coach.
But the Trojans are reloaded, as Chad Jones transitions in the Northland, from Smithville to Park Hill as head coach.
And Park Hill has lots of firepower, starting with speedy guard in 6-foot-2 junior Dru’ Smith (8 ppg).
“He is dynamite in transition,” Jones stated. “Dru’ is able to finish in traffic and a lockdown defender on the ball. He should have a great season.”
Smith will be joined by senior 6-foot-2 guard Brandon Townsell and senior shooting guard Tanner Morrison. Down load, the Trojans feature a versatile 6-foot-7 power forward in Tanner Zeil.
“He’s a true inside-outside player who can shoot the three,” hyped Jones.
With a guard-oriented team and strong outside shooting squard, Park Hill will look to scoot on offense.
“We need to play at a fast-pace tempo,” Jones said. “We are a deep team that thrives in the open court on offense. Defensively we have all the necessary pieces to play great man-to-man defense.”
