The weather may have finally cooled on Thursday night, but Liberty heated up the gym in the shootout at Avila.

The Blue Jays scorched the nets from the outside en route to a 77-57 romp of No. 2 Shawnee Mission South. Liberty opened the game making 9-of-15 from three-point range, then came out equally hot to start the second half to blow the game open.

The Raiders cut a Liberty halftime margin from 41-32 to seven, after a Yor Anei offensive stickback to open the third quarter. But junior power forward Clayton Adams, who finished with 12 points, canned a bucket on the block, followed by a Jalen Lewis 17-footer. Adams nailed a baseline bucket and a three-pointer from the key, followed by another trifecta from Craig Straws from the left wing for a 10-0 run and a 53-36 margin with 4:43 left in the third quarter.

A Max Graham three-pointer in the left corner with 1:18 pushed the Blue Jays cushion to over 20 at 63-42, and Liberty never looked back.

For the game, Liberty canned 14-of-28 three-point attempts.

Liberty came out guns a'blazin', as the Blue Jays scored the nets on 9-of-15 from three-point range to start the game and build a 36-25 lead after an LHS three-pointer with 4:02 left in the first half. But South whittled the lead to 37-32 after an AJ Webster bucket inside, and a Brady Anderson three-pointer with 1:35 remaining. Then Liberty's Hal Tyson connected on two driving layups for a 41-32 halftime edge.

For the half, Liberty hit 9-for-18 from behind the arc, while the Raiders committed 10 turnovers.
