Shawnee Mission North's boys and girls basketball teams both had strong starts in their first games after winter break, as they earned home wins over Olathe North on Tuesday.

Jazmin Williams paced the SMN girls with 14 points in a 50-42 victory. Katlyn Hughes and Briana Farr joined Williams in double figures with 11 and 10, respectively.

The SM North boys followed up the girls victory by edging Olathe North, 80-73. The Eagles rallied for 30 points in the fourth quarter, but the Indians' consistency from wire-to-wire proved to be the difference.
