When rattling off state powers in Kansas athletics, it doesn't take long to bring up McPherson on the list.

Which is why 810 Varsity has always had McPherson on its short list of expansion through Kansas.

810 Varsity, which holds exclusive rights to online broadcasts of many Kansas state championships for he next few years, including most Class 4A title games and tourneys, will broadcast many McPherson football and basketball games live online, starting in the fall of 2016.

"As a Kansas native, its hard not to think of McPherson and championship-level athletics, from the days of the Steve Hensons to 2015," remarked 810 Varsity's Chad Rader. "It's exciting to bring McPherson athletics online, from regular season games to state finals."

McPherson families and fans have enjoyed watching MHS state championships online at 810Varsity.com already, from McPherson's soccer runs in 2012 and 2013, to the 4A state basketball title games in the past three years.

810 Varsity, the high school entity affiliated with Sports Radio 810 in Kansas City, has broadcast 300+ games online for each of the past four years in Kansas and Missouri, as well as high school coverage at 810Varsity.com and hosting multiple high school events. 

"It really is important to bring Kansas athletics online not just for the Kansas City area, but to continue to become the state's one-stop shop," said Rader. "McPherson, Salina, Wichita and others are essential in that goal, and for many years ahead."

In July, KSHSAA announced that 810 Varsity, along with a collaboration with Open Spaces covering the western portion of Kansas, will hold rights to exclusive online broadcasts of many state championships, through 2019.

810 Varsity looks to expand its statewide coverage with scores, stories, rankings and more, as it announces more schools and regions with online broadcasts in the upcoming weeks.
