Blue Springs pulls away from Jags, 73-62

Cats Nudge Rivals on Friday night

At 5-foot-10, Blue Springs' Hunter Grobmyer is usually one of the smaller players on the court.

He's not known for his scoring, but rather his ability to make smart basketball decisions, being scrappy and playing tough defense.

But he was able to help transform Blue Springs' Big Three of Tyree King, RJ Lawrence and Daniel Parker Jr. into the Fantastic Four. He was one of four players in double figures in the Wildcats' 73-62 overtime win over crosstown rival Blue Springs South Friday at home.

Grobmyer was a catalyst for the offense in the first half when he scored nine of his 17 points in the first 16 minutes to help his team hold a 22-20 lead at the end of one quarter and a 34-33 lead at halftime.

Lawrence said he could tell Grobmyer was hyped up before the big rivalry game and it showed in his play.

""This is honestly the best I've seen Hunter (play)," Lawrence said. "Before the game we were talking and he was like, 'I am going to bring it.' and I said, 'Do it then!' And he just gave us a quick spark and kept it up the whole game."
