With many stars absent from Lee's Summit West's marquee matchup with CBC, one rose up to shine with one of the biggest outings in the 810 Varsity Showcase's history.

Minus fellow senior starters Yor Anei and Mario Goodrich, Creighton commit Christian Bishop rose up with merely a triple-double - 24 points, 14 rebounds and 10 blocks to lead the Titans to a 59-53 win over CBC from St. Louis, in the finale of the 810 Varsity Showcase at Lee's Summit High on Saturday night.

The night by Bishop ranked as one of the top individual performances in the history of the 810 Varsity Showcase.

"We played well and knew everyone would have to step up their game on both ends of the court," stated Bishop. "This was a good chance for us to test ourselves against a good team across the state, and tough circumstances without Yor and Mario."

Rich Johnson wasn't too shabby, pouring in 17 points. Johnson and Bishop combined for 26 of the first 30 points for West.

The Titans stumbled early, down 11-5 early to the Cadets. But the Titans fought back behind a Bishop lay-in, tip-in and two Johnson free throws to a 15-10 deficit.

Then at 6:01 in the second period, Bishop flushed a dunk, followed by six straight points from Johnson on four free throws and a pull-up jumped for a 20-19 lead.

Consecutive Bishop dunks and a block shot helped the Titans to a 30-30 tie at intermission.

CBC, also short-handed with star sophomore Caleb Love and fellow starting point guard, started to show in the second half. Just up by two, West got out in transition for consecutive Johnson layups to close the third stanza for a 47-39 lead.

The Cadets closed within 47-44, but Johnson hit Bishop with an alley-oop for a layup at 5:40 left. From there, Bishop and Johnson were sent to the line and held off the Cadets, before another Bishop dunk sealed the win with a dunk with 42 ticks left for a 56-50 lead.

Darius Doresy led CBC with 16 points, while Josh Wallace added 15.
