Tigers hold off St. Joe Central, 15-6

Central got inside the red zone on its first drive but it stalled out. Central (1-5, 1-3 Suburban Red) received back-to-back penalties and Lee’s Summit stopped it on 4th-and-20 for its first takeaway.

Two plays later, Central recovered a fumble, but the team gave it right back to the Tigers on the next play.

Lee’s Summit also stopped Central on a fourth down at the 10-yard line at the end of the first quarter.

Turnovers happened multiple times on both sides of the field.

Lee’s Summit quarterback Kaia Tupinio threw an interception in the end zone to junior Will Austin to stop a scoring opportunity, this time in the second quarter.
