Tigers hope to see rebuild jumpstart this season

After a run of four straight 20-win seasons, Lee's Summit looks for another winning era ahead.

The Tigers, who won 20+ games in each year from 2012 through 2016, have rebuilt the last two seasons. LSHS and head coach Blake Little should see the fruits of the rebuilding starting this year.

Junior guard Jaden Moore (6-foot-2) returns after notching 14 ppg a year ago, along with three rebounds per contest. Also in the backcourt will be junior point guard Domonique Martinez (6-0), who has strong passing skills. Fellow junior Landon Willis (5-foot-10) enjoyed a solid season on the gridiron, and looks to expand his role from backup point guard last year.

Seniors Sam Lock (6-foot-4) and Zion Wiseman (6-foot-3) round up the lineup.

"The biggest thing for us on both ends is to develop trust," stated Little. "We need to trust each other enough defensively to help one another and enough offensively to share the ball.  If we can share it we could be a pretty good offensive team."

Freshman Max Whisner (6-foot-6, 205) will bring height inside, but athleticism as he also plays tight end in football.

"We're still pretty young and like our underclassmen," Little said. "We may have a tough start with our lack of varsity experience and really challenging early schedule, but if we gel early, we could jumpstart things for the next few years."
