Fort Osage showed they are ready to make a run after the holiday break in a big way - with the Nelson Division championship going back to the Indians trophy case.
The Indians (8-2) knocked off Grandview, 51-47, on Saturday night to win the Jewell Classic's Nelson Division. Ty Baker led the way with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 7-of-8 from the line, en route to earning the Nelson Division MVP award.
The Bulldogs (9-2), the defending Missouri Class 4 state champs, entered the tourney as the No. 5 team in the 810 Varsity Top 25. Fort Osage, off a couple losses preceding Christmas, dipped to No. 23.
