Showcase will show off Lee's Summit, Olathe's best

The 810 Varsity Showcase, Session II should avoid bad weather and showcase good basketball this Saturday.

The fourth of five 810 Varsity events will be held Saturday, January 26 at Lee's Summit High School. The event will feature the three Lee's Summit high school boys teams, as well as Summit Christian and the Lee's Summit girls.

Three of the 810 Varsity's Top 10 will be on the hardwood.

No. 7 Lee's Summit North (13-3) will have a battle vs an improving Blue Valley West team at 2 pm. The Broncos are paced by Javaunte Hawkins, averaging over 24 ppg.

No. 10 William Chrisman (12-4) fell just shy in the title game of the Summit Grill Classic last weekend. The Bears will face perennially tough Olathe East at 3:30 pm.

No. 6 Olathe North features one of the top backcourts in the city with guards Tymer Jackson and K.T. Raimey. The Eagles will take on Lee's Summit West. While on a down year by Titan standards, LS West still features senior guard Rich Johnson who can post 20 points in an hurry, and improving guard Tayven Glasgow, who scored a team-high 19 points in the 810 Varsity Showcase, Session I on January 5 vs Blue Valley North.

The nightcap pits two former league foes in Park Hill and Lee's Summit. The two faced off earlier in the William Jewell Classic, with the Tigers winning, 61-50.
